Of smart mullahs and dumb GOP leadership

The cunning Iranian mullahs continue to pursue a strategy designed to provoke an attack on their nascent nuclear weapons production facilities by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) and/or the United States. Actually, the Iranians are on a win-win path. The mullahs know that neither the U.N. nor any other international body will stop them from perfecting nuclear weapons and delivery systems capable of striking Israel. In fact, just the possession of the capability to annihilate Israel will make them the top camels of the Middle East and will wrestle the leadership of the Jihad against Judeo-Christian Civilization out of the hands of al Qaeda.

Meanwhile, the international bodies that won’t stop Iran’s nuclear weapons developments will exert every effort to prevent the IDF and the U.S. from attacking Iran. But even if the IDF and/or the U.S. do strike, the mullahs win again because Iran’s “victim” status will unite the entire Muslim world behind Iran and, once again, Iran becomes top camel.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad truly believes the Israelis are occupying land to which the Palestinians have a prior right. But if anyone has a prior right to the Land of Canaan to which Moses led the Israelites, it would be the now extinct Canaanites. The Philistines, from whose name the world Palestinian is derived, were Abuls-come-lately to Canaan. The Jews were already there.

Actually, the Philistines lived on islands in the Mediterranean Sea from which they came to the shores of present day Israel and Lebanon to pillage and plunder and then retreat to their Mediterranean islands. Of course, President Ahmadinejad has his history wrong; however he is simply spouting the warped history he has learned from his reading of the Koran and from the teachings of the Islamo-fascist mullahs.

Speaking of religion, a recent survey shows a rise in religious interest by American college students. Actually, this should come as no surprise because both Judaism and Christianity have always experienced revival when under persecution and attack. Read Dr. Robert Spencer’s The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) and it becomes abundantly clear why and how Western Civilization is under attack and has been from almost the outset of Islam.

Also, having just read David Horowitz’ The Professors: The 101 Most Dangerous Academics in America, I’m rather surprised that our college students are not all atheists, communists and haters of all things American. But, as is often the case, many students hold to their own views, do whatever is necessary to please their radical professors, graduate, and then rejoin American mainstream thought.

Fortunately, I did my masters and doctoral studies under some fairly middle-of-the-political-road academics. I did encounter a couple of professors who hated American foreign policy no matter what. But when they pressed me to say something negative, I would utter a few words against Richard Nixon and they would let me alone. Sometimes, the students have to be smarter than their professors. But, as Horowitz details, many of his “101 most dangerous” never had any academic credentials to begin with.

But contrast the cunning Iranian mullahs with the dumber-than-rocks GOP congressional leadership. Of course, we need to secure our borders as a first step toward a workable guest-worker program. But why did the House want to make illegal entry a felony? Dumb. Besides, did the House really think we have the law enforcement capability to identify 11 million felons and deport them? Dumber.

Currently, the GOP sets the agenda in the Congress. So, since March is the month when the greatest flow of Mexican illegals crosses our southern border and is when warm weather returns, why would Congress schedule immigration reform votes in March? Irrespective about how one feels about immigration reform, the safeguard against possible violence in the streets would have been to schedule such votes in the cold of winter and before March brings the annual influx of illegal immigrants. Dumb, dumber and ultra dumb.
